Lansing Trail

Information on the Trail and Nearby Area

The Lansing Creeper Trails is 0.5 miles on the former Virginia-Carolina rail bed. In December 2013 the town of Lansing was awarded a $500,000 matching grant by the N.C. Parks and Recreation Trust Fund for expansion of the Lansing Creeper Trail Park. Ann Rose, project manager for nonprofit organization Great Lansing Area Development (GLAD) said the Lansing Town Park Expansion will raise more than half a million dollars in matching funds, in part through donated infrastructure and in part through fundraising efforts. Rose said the Town of Lansing, the Lansing Volunteer Fire Department and GLAD are all working together on the three-year project to raise the funds necessary to match the grant. Plans for the park include extending the existing walking trails by three quarters of a mile, constructing a one-acre dog park, nature trails and mountain bike trails. For updates on this project check Lansing's FaceBook Page.
